American Idol Winner Lee Dewyze is still making the rounds. He's not done promoting himself after his big win last week. He and runner-up Crystal Bowersox have done the talk show thing this week, such as judge Ellen DeGeneres' show, Regis and Kelly, and the Today Show, and now he'll be having a solo appearance singing the National Anthem before the NBA Finals, according to the Associated Press.
For game two of the NBA Finals, Boston Celtics at Los Angeles Lakers, Lee will be singing the Star Spangled Banner before the start of the game on Sunday night. Los Angeles currently has a one game lead on Boston. If the Celtics mount a comeback at this point, it might compare to Lee toppeling Crystal in the finale.
I know it's following a tradition to have the American Idol winner sing during the NBA Finals, but since the Chicago Bulls took an early exit here, wouldn't it be more meaningful, at least to Lee and Chicagoans, to have him sing before a Stanley Cup game? The Chicago Blackhawks are playing the Philadelphia Flyers. How great would that be to have Lee sing before watching his home team?
