If ABC is worried about Adam Lambert, they may definitely be shaking in their boots after hearing this news. Reports are starting to swirl around that Lambert's "Time For Miracles," a song from the feature film "2012," could be up for best Original Song at the Academy Awards. This would mean that Lambert would have another opportunity to perform live on the network that famously shunned him after his American Music Awards performance of "For Your Entertainment."
Will ABC try and object to the performance if it happens? That is the questioned that will inevitably be asked. Even if Adam was a little risque at the AMAs, we have seen that sort of performance before. In addition, Adam proved on "American Idol" that he can sing just fine without having to grab any crotches. Therefore, it seems reasonable that he could do it again and doesn't need a network carefully breathing down his back.
However, ABC has insisted that Adam's "unpredictable" nature needs to be monitored. His appearances on "Jimmy Kimmel Live!" and "New Year's Rockin' Ever," have been canceled, and he was only allowed to perform on Thursday's episode of "The View" after agreeing to a pre-taped performance.
Do you think Adam Lambert could shake up the Oscars, or will ABC even let him perform if he's nominated? Let me know your thoughts with a comment below and check back soon for more "American Idol" news. The Academy Awards will air on March 7, 2010 with Steve Martin and Alec Baldwin as hosts.
