Lauren Alaina will switch on the Christmas lights at Graceland this year. The 'Like My Mother Does' singer will "flip the switch" to begin the holiday season at Elvis Presley's estate in Memphis, Tennessee on November 18. The lighting ceremony is free and open to the public. It can also be viewed via webcam at elvis.
Decorations at the legendary property will include a life-size Nativity scene, Santa and his sleigh, and hundreds of blue lights down the driveway. All the decorations were originally chosen and displayed by Presley and his family.
One fan will also have the chance to attend the ceremony and win prizes including a meet-and-greet with Alaina, as well as serve as a guest DJ on Elvis Radio on Sirius XM through CMT.com and Sirius XM. Full details are available here.
Alaina, who finished runner-up on the tenth season of American Idol, recently released her debut album Wildflower, which features first single 'Like My Mother Does'. The record features a track called 'Eighteen Inches' that was co-written by Alaina's idol Carrie Underwood, who performed alongside her on the American Idol finale, and another track penned by Alaina called 'Funny Thing About Love'.
