Jennifer Lopez's New 'American Idol' Deal Worth $20 Million

Jennifer Lopez's New 'American Idol' Deal Worth $20 MillionMirror Mirror on the wall, who is the biggest diva of them all?  Sorry Ryan Seacrest, looks like we're not going to be able to afford for you to enter the stage via a magic carpet on next year's season of American Idol. And Randy, we know you've been the ultimate dogg for sticking it out with the show through thick and thin (thick being Simon and thin being Paula), but we're not going to be able to give you that bonus check after all. Sorry fans, we won't be able to travel to as many cities to audition contestants as we usually do. We want to do all these things, but it's just not in the budget anymore after Jennifer Lopez's latest Idol paycheck demands.

Lopez and Fox have reportedly reached a new deal to keep the singer/actress with the reality TV show for another year. Lopez is set to get a sum of just over $20 million for all of her "hard" judging work. Granted, she's only been on the show one year, so it's not like she's a native, but yeah let's give her a raise anyways. She won the hearts of fans and contestants in her Season 10 debut as a judge alongside Steven Tyler and Idol veteran Randy Jackson. Her contract only lasted for one season, so up until now it was unclear as to whether the diva would be returning to the judging panel for the following season. When asked about it Lopez stated, "I don't know...I haven't been forced to make a decision and I'm glad about that because honestly I'm very on the fence about it." Back then she was only making a mere $12 million, so you can see why she was so hesitant. I mean, in such a thriving economy now-a-days, one can afford to be picky.

Reports are claiming that the deal is set, but Lopez has yet to sign since she's trying to work out scheduling conflicts between Idol and two upcoming motion pictures. Here's hoping these kinks get worked out, so we don't have to get used to yet again another new judge.  Seriously, I thought only the contestants were supposed to be different each year.
