Soul singer Leela James and "American Idol" winner Ruben Studdard are headlining this weekend's Juneteenth in the Park festival in downtown San Jose. The African-American cultural festival runs from noon to 8 p.m. Saturday and Sunday at Plaza de Cesar Chavez. James will perform Saturday at 6 p.m. Oscar Dace, the senior pastor of Bible Way Christian Center, will lead "Church in the Park," at 11 a.m. Sunday. Studdard, who won the second season of "American Idol" in 2003, will close the festival at 6 p.m. Sunday.

The Tech Museum of Innovation also will be celebrating Juneteenth on Saturday with the world premiere of a documentary about the late African-American video-game pioneer Jerry Lawson.
