Of note: Pia Toscano knocked everyone out with her “Don’t Let the Sun Go Down on Me” as Tyler told Randy she could handle the ballads, or anything for that matter. Low point of the night was the segment where Stefano Langone’s father and Howie Mandel bald guy it up next to each other so Howie could plug his new series, which begins next week.
With the judges save of Casey Abrams, this week brings you another 11 songs with the release of the “American Idol Top 11 Redux Season 10” album compilation. Featuring the full length Elton John songs performed by contestants on tonight’s show, the set will go on sale once again exclusively on the iTunes Store following Wednesday’s March 31st “American Idol.” Individual songs will also be available for sale.
The songs released on iTunes are studio versions recorded by the Idols under the guidance of Jimmy Iovine’s team, including some of the hottest producers in the business, such as Rodney Jerkins, Jim Jonsin, “Tricky” Stewart, Rock Mafia, Don Was, Ron Fair and Alex Da Kid. The 11 individual tracks and compilation album that will go on sale tonight are being released on the 19 Recordings/Interscope label. The compilation album will sell for $7.99.
