Remember Frenchie Davis, the season two American Idol contestant who was kicked off the show because she posed for an adult website when she was 19? Well, she's found another reality singing competition willing to take her on: NBC's The Voice.
Entertainment Weekly reports that last Thursday, March 17th, Davis auditioned for the show by performing Katy Perry's "I Kissed a Girl." While three of the shows celebrity judges, Cee-Lo Green, Maroon 5's Adam Levine and country star Blake Shelton, turned down the chance to work with her, the fourth judge, Christina Aguilera, voted "yes." As previously reported, judges can't see the people who audition for The Voice -- they only hear them sing and then decide if they want to work with them.
An insider for The Voice told EW, "Frenchie is an interesting personality who was left high and dry by Idol. It’s an amazing story that Christina picked her despite not having a clue who she was." Since being ejected from American Idol, Davis has carved out a respectable career as a stage actress, appearing the Broadway production of Rent, and touring productions of Dreamgirls and Ain't Misbehavin'.
