Have Jennifer Lopez (JLo) and Steven Tyler become hard asses on American Idol? Is it going to be harder than every to get through to Hollywood on AI?

The NY Post claims JLo and Steven Tyler have become tough judges on American Idol.

A NY Post source says, "If Paula liked the song a contestant sang, then they got right through. For Steven and Jennifer, there's much more thought behind it. It's about the package: endurance, timing, how much you want it, and can you sing more than just one genre of music.

It looks as if American Idol will be a harder place to win this year and that is a good thing. Too often in the past inferior talent was advancing farther than it should have. Paula Abdul was the worst judge on the show. She too often let people advance that had no business advancing. It is good to see that JLo and Tyler will be more discerning in their judging and hopefully that will weed out the wannabe's from the contenders.

I think that this years contestants should be worried. Earlier this year Randy Jackson came out and said that he was going to be a lot tougher on the contestants as well. With three tough judges everyone better bring their A game or they will be going home.
