She has just started her new gig as a judge on American Idol and Jennifer Lopez is already being accused of diva-like behaviour. But the multi-millionaire singer, actress and dancer says don't believe everything you read.
Rumours swirled following one report which claimed Lopez, 41, and Idol host Ryan Seacrest, 35, were bickering behind the scenes over dressing rooms, who gets top billing, and more.
But the 41-year-old Bronx native conveniently went onto Seacrest's KIIS-FM morning radio show Friday in Los Angeles to clear up the claims. 'I'm there two weeks, and we have a major feud – a diva battle,' Lopez said, adding 'It's hysterical ... It's crazy.'35-year-old Seacrest backed her up adding: 'Not only is that so untrue... Jennifer and I have known each other for a long time before all of this, and, we actually have a similar sense of humour.'Lopez has a reputation around Hollywood for making diva demands.
According to the Hollywood Reporter, her Idol negotiations initially stalled due to the her rumoured asking price of upwards of $20 million a year, plus a personal hair, make-up, styling team and her own ‘dressing room compound.’Lopez eventually sealed the Idol deal and on September 22 it was announced she and Steven Tyler would be joining the Hit Fox series, replacing Simon Cowell, Ellen DeGeneres and Kara DioGuardi. The superstsar Latina started out as a backup dancer then segued into acting and music. She has released seven albums including the this year's Love? which features the single Louboutins that she performed on the American Music Awards in February. Season 10 auditions are already under way for Idol which returns to television in January.
